5 easy steps for a glow up
Today I want to share with you guys five easy steps to glow up. And you don't even need a lot of money or the famous "that girl" essentials for it.
Let's get right into it :
1. Eat and drink enough
This really changed my life. Since I moved out and I had to do all the grocery shopping and cooking I had phases where I didn't eat the healthiest stuff or were too lazy to cook. And let me tell you, I felt like sh*t afterwards - and sometimes the whole day. Since I started eating more and healthier I got sooo much more energy and my mood also got better. Also, a glass of water right when you wake up gives you a boost.
If water alone is too boring for you and you want some taste to it, you can add sliced fruits like lemon, strawberries or something else to it.
2. Wear clothes that make you feel confident
This is such an important thing and can change your whole day. You don't have to wear the stuff that society labels as fashionable and trendy. In fact, some of the things might not even look good on your body type. Find your style, find what looks good on you and stick to it. People are always going to talk about you, no matter what, so you might as well wear the stuff you like. This will give you a hue confidence boost.
3. Use positive affirmations
Using positive affirmations is a technique to strengthen your self-love. Whenever you realise that you're putting yourself down ( for example : you're standing in front of a mirror and think about all the things you don't like about yourself ) try to switch it to the opposite. Think about the things you do like about yourself, the things you're good at. And even if you think there aren't any, I have something for you. Think about this : We all come to earth as babys. We're all the same. We haven't accomplished anyhing yet, we don't have any money or property we can call our own, we're just there, alive. And worthy of all the love there is. You wouldn't say "Oh, this little human is not worthy of love because he's just crying and sleeping all day". And that's how you have to think about yourself too. This worthiness doesn't simply go away because of your carreer, gender, status, mental health or anything else. You're still so worthy.
4. Find a skincare routine
This really can change a lot. I used to spend all my money on make-up, to cover up blemishes, pimples and an uneven skintone, which made it all worse. Skincare products don't have to be super expensive for your skin to work. Research the different skin types and products, find videos on Youtube or ask friends and family if they have any recommendations. There are a lot of cheaper products that can work wonders. Nothing looks better than healthy skin.
5. Sleep well and create a sleep schedule
Good sleep and most importantly enough sleep is healthy and keeps you energized throughout the day. A messed up sleep-routine will make you feel like sh*t if you're doing it for some time - trust me, I know what I'm talking about. It can even mess with your mood and can make you feel more depressed, tired and drained. Everybody is different, some people only need 5 hours of sleep to feel good, others may need 9 hours. Find what works best for you.
Kisses, Marie
